BLUEBERRY'S VARIETIES

EARLIBLUE: |
|
This variety is the first one to
ripen and has upright bushes reaching around 120 - 180cm and large
glossy green leaves. This variety is very easy to grow. It has large,
light blue, sweet flavored berries.

BLUETTA |
|
This variety has much smaller
compact bushes usually reaching around 90 - 150cm. Although it is
not as big as Earliblue it yields more berries even before reaching
full maturity. The fruits are dark blue, medium size with a tangy
blueberry flavour. It is more frost resistant than Earliblue.

DUKE |
|
This is an early variety that has
open, upright bushes reaching 130-150cm. It is very vigorous and
very productive. Duke blooms late which protects blossoms from
spring frosts. Its berries are large, light blue, firm and remain
fresh for a long time.

SUNRISE |
|
This variety is averagely vigorous,
reaching around 130-160cm. The berries are ligt blue, very flavoured,
wiht a small scar. It prefers better soils and is rather cold hardy.

SPARTAN |
|
It has high upright bushes reaching
210 cm at maturity and large glossy leaves. Ripens at the end of
july, has light blue, very large berries wiht a delicous tangy
flavour. It requires well drained soil and a lot of sun.

PATRIOT |
|
The bushes are rather low or medium
size and frost hardy. This is one of heavy producers of large size
fruit. The berries are dark blue and highly flavored. The plants are
very adpatable to many types of soil and tolarate less than perfect
conditions.

BLUEJAY |
|
This variety grows almost twice as
fast as most others blueberries. It has large bushes - around 210 cm.
It's very easy to grow, has light blue medium size berries that
remain on the bush for a long time without losing their quality.

BLUERAY |
|
One of the most popular varieties.
Produces planty of high quality, large, firm berries with
outstanding flavour. Its upright bushes grow very fast, quickly
reaching 120-180 cm. This variety is very frost resistant.

BLUECROP |
|
Another very popular variety,
considered to be the best one. It is very easy to grow, reaching
around 160-200 cm and is resistant to diseases and spring frosts. It
produces planty of large, high quality, delicious berries.

BLUEGOLD |
|
This variety has compact bushes
reaching around 120cm. Its berries are very round, sky blue and
exceptionally firm with a small scar. It is also very productive and
cold hardy.

BERKELEY |
|
Berkeley is easy to grow and
reaches around 160-180cm. The bushes are also very wide. Its berries
have very attractive powder blue colour and a pleasing mild flavour.
It is easy to grow and does best in full sun and well drained soil.

NELSON |
|
this variety is more adaptive than
Berkeley. It has vigorous upright bushes and large berries, similar
to Spartan. It seems to be tolerant of cold winter temperatures and
to have quite high yields.

HERBERT |
|
This variety has bushes reaching
around 150 cm. It ripens between july and august and has very
characteristic large berries with superb flavour.

BRIGITTA |
|
This is one of the late varieties.
It is known as a heavy producer and for its high quality berries. It
does not need as much fertilizer as other varieties. The friut is
large, light blue, firm, with a crisp texture.

JERSEY |
|
One of the oldest and most widely
grown of all varieties. Reaches up to 210 cm. It is easy to grow and
havy producing late season variety. Has dark blue, medium size
berries. It grows well in most types of soil.

DARROW |
|
It has characteristic leaves and is
quite vigorous, reaching around 160-210 cm. The fuit is slightly
flat, large, light blue, with a delicious flavour. Berries remain on
the bush for a long time.
